This accessibility statement applies to www.staywisecymru.co.uk.

This website is run by the National Fire Chiefs Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to: 

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts 
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

StayWise is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 

Compliance status  

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to not all images having alt descriptions and not all text on the website being a minimum of 12pt, a further breakdown of these issue can be seen listed below. 

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations 

  • Images from the image gallery don’t have appropriate alt descriptions and this is something that we are actively working on.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations  

All content is within the scope of the accessibility regulations.

What we're doing to improve accessibility  

  • Creating a new media manager to ensure that images have an appropriate alt description.  
  • Adding a contents sections to large pages to allow users to skip to the sections that they want to read. 

We hope that these improvements will be completed by February 2023.

Preparation of this accessibility statement 

This statement was prepared on 27th July 2021 and it was reviewed on 19th December 2022. 

This website was last tested on 28th November 2022 and we conducted our own testing.
